We will practice with embracing the fullness of Thanksgiving holiday experience. Gratitude and acceptance practice for the joy and the suffering entrusted to us. Leaning into our resilience to relate to inner experience as well as those in our life.
Does a spiritual practice address our relationship to life within and without; sweeping us into lived experience of gratitude and mourning? How do we allow this movement of life? Is it dependent on our awareness and connection to dwelling in a response rather than reaction?
If I only cultivate joy what does that say to those parts of experience that are other than joy? Conversely how is it possible to dwell in loss only, without touching into fullness? In the fullness of presence and empathy does your experience shift into tenderness and vulnerability? Is there a sacred part of us longing for love? To be received, to be allowed, accepted for whatever is there?
Out of this vulnerability comes a real strength that empowers life to unfold. In our hearts, in our vulnerability, is our authenticity. That is what empowers us to live life in the way that we want to love life, in the way that the inner life calls us to live.
We will touch into the simple practices of Plum Village, such as conscious breathing, sitting meditation, deep listening, and deep relaxation, to help us practice coming home to our true selves.
Thank you, friends.
