MorningSun is located in the Monadnock Region of southwestern New Hampshire. We are 10-15 minutes from Keene, NH a town of 30,000 people, two colleges and some great cultural resources. We are about 45 minutes from Brattleboro, VT, 2 hours from Boston, MA, and 4 hours from New York City.
Keene is home to Keene State College, with approximately 5,000 students, and a branch of Antioch University, with several graduate programs such as clinical psychology, environmental education and an MBA in sustainability. Keene has a beautiful Main Street with excellent restaurants, an independent theater that hosts live performances, movies and live streaming performances of New York opera.
There are several nonprofit organizations and communities that are just minutes from MorningSun. Among them are:
- The Orchard Hill community in Alstead, NH contains a bakery, a community center, a preschool and a CSA. They host public saunas every Sunday in the winter and make-your-own-pizza nights every Tuesday in the summer.
- Kroka Expeditions is a wilderness awareness center in Marlow, NH that offers wilderness-based programs for children and teens.
- The Sustainability Project in Gilsum, NH is a nonprofit that focuses on education about environmentalism.
- The Badger Balm company, a certified B-Corp, makers of organic lip balms, sunscreens, etc. is also in Gilsum.
