Day of Mindfulness Practice

Dear friends on the path,

On Sunday December 15 we will have a Day of Mindfulness from 9:30am-1:00pm.

This morning gathering will include a Dharma Talk on the Mind of Love.

This will be the last Day of Mindfulness we will be offering this year.

The Sunday Morning Prgram will Include:

    • Sunday Morning Program from 9:30am-1:00pm: This day of mindfulness is open for everyone. It will include sitting meditation, a live talk from one of MorningSun’s teachers, outdoor walking meditation, and lunch.
    • Sunday Solstice Celebraton of Light will be a Seperate event from 4:30pm-7:00pm. Please register seperatly for the Solstice so we can have an accurate number in order to prepare for the event. You are welcome to stay and rest in El Cielo, our community building, if you come for the Day of Mindfulness and wish to stay for the afternoon program at 4:30, but there will be no scheduled activities between lunch and 4:30.
  • If you have registered for Sunday’s Day of Mindfulness, a simple vegan meal will be provided.

$10-40 Suggested Contribution (to practice together is the most important gift, so if your current financial situation is challenging please still come and don’t worry about making a donation).

Please sign up on the simple registration form below (so we can be prepared to receive you).

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can settle in before we begin. After you park in either of the two parking areas, please walk to El Cielo or the Forest Hall. El Cielo is the light blue building on the main road at 81 Rose Apple Lane. The Forest Hall is within campus, a small strawbale hall. There are wooden signs pointing to both.


Sample flow of events: (subject to small changes)

  • 9:30-10:30 am Sitting Meditation (25 minutes sitting, then 10 minutes slow walking, followed by a second 25 minutes sitting. Often one of the sittings will be a guided meditation on the theme of the day)
  • 10:30-10:45 am Mindful Movements and Stretching
  • 10:45-11:45 am Teachings, Practice and Discussion on the theme of the day
  • 11:45-12:30 pm Group Walking Meditation (We begin with singing and to enjoy an outdoor walking meditation through the forest, often preceded by instruction. Please bring appropriate clothing.)
  • 12:30 pm Shared Vegan Lunch prepared by MorningSun for those who have registered

Program

After you complete the registration you will receive a simple confirmation email. Please refer to the information above in the event listing in order to be prepared for the day.
Please choose an amount to contribute to the cost for the day. $10 to $40 is suggested per person, but if you are low on resources at this time - you may enter "0" in this field. You may also contribute by check or cash during the event if you do not want to complete the transaction online at this time (if you choose to do this enter "0" in this field).

Payment

Pressing the Submit Button below will take you to PayPal to complete your registration. Through PayPal you can use any major credit card. We will then send you confirmation of your registration and program details or materials.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the program start date are 50% non-refundable. All other cancellations and refund requests will be subject to an administrative charge (10% up to a maximum of $50). Please feel free to email us with any questions or concerns.
