Practice with us in-person at MorningSun while we stream the teachings direct from Plum Village!

We will hold an in-person retreat experience at MorningSun parallel with the Plum Village retreat in France.  While the Dharma teachings will be video streamed from France, we will manifest a retreat community in-person in the beautiful natural setting of MorningSun, with shared sitting and walking meditations, mindful meals, and discussion groups.

Part of every program fee will be sent to Plum Village as an offering to support the monastic community there.

In this present time of global biodiversity, social and climate crises, how can love show us the way?

The mindfulness practices as taught by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh help us cultivate greater understanding, healing and transformation. They are a path of great love – one that does not demand anything in return, that expands us, that frees us from individual and collective fears, greed, and illusion. A kind of love that liberates us to engage in ways that can contribute to a better world for all.

For the first time, Plum Village is hosting a global Earth Retreat that unfolds both on-site and online. We will learn mindfulness practices that help us cultivate happiness, love and freedom, and join in workshops and panels on the themes of spirituality & activism; social & racial justice; how to take care of our grief and “eco-anxiety”; among others. Together we will cultivate peace and the insight of Inter-being which can surely be the ground for a better future for all on Earth.

Dharma Teachers

Sister Chan Duc (“True Virtue”), Brother Phap Huu, Sr. Luc Nghiem and Br. Phap Linh are among the Dharma teachers who will offer talks during this retreat.

Logistics:

Arrival for the retreat is Friday, June 16th, from 3pm to 6pm. Departure is on Friday after lunch on June 23rd, at 2pm. Please provide your own transportation to and from MorningSun.

Cost: There are two parts to the program cost:

• The Program (offered on an affordable sliding scale: $290 – 490)
• Accommodations (costs vary from camping ($70) to dormitory rooms ($230))

Financial Assistance:  Anyone who wishes to attend the retreat will be welcomed, no matter of financial ability. If the lowest tier is still too high for you you can self select some financial assistance from within the registration form.  If you need a full scholarship please contact us.

Accommodations:  We have several rooms available in “El Cielo” (beds for 10-14 people depending on whether folks are alone, or couples, or in a ‘pod’), and also camping.  Our campground is primitive, with flat sandy sites, outdoor showers and outhouses.  You must provide your own tent and camping equipment.  Campers will also have access to the first floor toilet and laundry in El Cielo.  You may also choose to commute in and out if you live locally (or book a hotel/b and b).
