“Enjoying the Flavors of Life” Wake Up Retreat
July 13 @ 4:00 pm - July 16 @ 2:00 pm
“Enjoying the Flavors of Life”
This is a retreat for young adults – ages 18-35 ish.
This retreat is an opportunity to develop the practice of simple mindful living, to bring joy, solidity and freedom into the world. We grow the strength and capacity to create loving relationships, to build a community of supportive friends, to care for the Earth and contribute to positive change in the world.
We’ll share daily meditation, eating meditation, listening to teachings, hikes in the woods, and discussions, as well as have time to enjoy swimming, music-filled bonfires, starry nights, and canoeing – surrounded by 240 beautiful acres of MorningSun Community.
This Wake Up Retreat will also include components of a cooking retreat! Residential practitioners from MorningSun have practiced mindful cooking for the Sangha, their families, and themselves over many years. They will lead community cooking sessions where we can practice mindful cooking together, learning some dishes that are retreat favorites. Practicing to look deeply into our ingredients and the conditions that helped them and us manifest into this present moment, we will develop the skills to be deeply present and share heartfelt love through the art of cooking. Cooking meditation is a wonderful way to care for ourselves and our community.

Logistics: Arrival for the retreat is Thursday, July 13th, from 4pm to 6pm. Departure is on Sunday after lunch on July 16th, at 2pm. Please provide your own transportation to and from MorningSun. If you are unable to, contact us, a ride-share may be available. You will receive confirmation of your space upon registration and receipt of payment.
Cost: There are two parts to the program cost:
- The Program itself (offered on an affordable sliding scale ($180-380))
- Accommodations (costs vary from camping ($50) to beds in dormitory rooms ($150))
Financial Assistance: Anyone who wishes to attend the retreat will be welcomed, no matter of financial ability. If the lowest tier is still too high for you, you may self select some financial assistance within the registration form. If you need a full scholarship please contact us.
Accommodations: We have several rooms available in “The Barn” (beds for 10-14 people depending on whether folks are alone, or couples, or in a ‘pod’), and also camping. Our campground is primitive, with flat sandy sites, outdoor showers and outhouses. You must provide your own tent and camping equipment. Campers will also have access to the first floor toilet and laundry in The Barn. You may also choose to commute in and out if you live locally (or book a hotel/airbnb).
Dear friends, registration has closed for our retreat! If you would like to be placed on the waitlist, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for understanding!
